I noticed some unexpected changes in my Internet service yesterday morning, and have not found any reasons. My Connect-600 / Internet-50 service has been running with a Connect-Box_1 for several years with IPv4+IPv6 . But yesterday the box restarted, and since then I have only IPv4 DHCP to my Asus WiFi-router.
Here are the current details from the Compal unit:
- Hardware version: 5.01
- Software version: LG-RDK_CH7465LG-NCIP-6.18-2406.5.2-NOSH
- Cable MAC address: 90:5C:44:E7:A0:XX
- Cable modem s/n: DEAP704205XX
- System up time: 0day(s)8h:11m:54s
- Network access: Allowed
- MAC address: 90:5C:44:E7:A0:XX
- IPv4 address: 77.57.166.XX
- Default gateway: 77.57.166.1
- IPv4 DNS servers: 62.2.24.158, 62.2.17.61
Previously I would get both IPv4 & IPv6 via DHCP to my downstream Asus WiFi-router, like this: (Feb.2025)
- “ip”: “31.10.169.46”,
- “hostname”: “31-10-169-46.cgn.dynamic.upc.ch”,
- “org”: “AS6730 Sunrise GmbH”
- inet6 2a02:aa10:627e:9f00::9b3/128 scope global dynamic noprefixroute
- inet6 2a02:aa10:627e:9f00:be18:16:f0d4:4778/64 scope global temporary dynamic
- DNS-Server: 2a02:aa10:627e:9f00::68
- ( 0.1.a.a.2.0.a.2.ip6.arpa. 3600 IN SOA ns1.upc.biz. hostmaster.chello.at )
Appears to be changes to IPv4 Netblock; Domain; and (no) IPv6 Netblock assignments?
Does this relate to new service agreements, or firmware updates pushed to box? I have made Reset-to-Factory, and reconfigured; as well as 24-hour wait + restarts. But am not able to regain the previous functionality from my end.
I see many comments from customers wanting IPv4 change, but I preferred the mixed CGNAT mode. Now I can’t reach external IPv6 targets directly, and VPN sessions need rerouting. Here’s the report from online test @ https://test-ipv6.com:
- Your IPv4 address on the public Internet appears to be: 77.57.166.XX
- Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) appears to be: SUNRISE
- Your Domain appears to be: hispeed.ch
- No IPv6 address detected.
- You appear to be able to browse the IPv4 Internet only. You will not be able to reach IPv6-only sites.
- To ensure the best Internet performance and connectivity, ask your ISP about native IPv6.
- Your DNS server (possibly run by your ISP) appears to have IPv6 Internet access.
