Here’s our checklist so you don’t suddenly find yourself without a connection abroad:
(Roaming? Already done! You’re practically the travel pro among smartphones - your network is ready for adventure while others are still looking for the settings in the menu. 😎✈️)
✅ Check roaming package - In the Sunrise Cockpit
✅ Set cost limit - So that vacations don’t become a cost trap
✅ Deactivate VoLTE & WiFi calling if no calls are possible abroad
✅ Set network mode to 4G/5G (not 5G only)
✅ Activate manual network selection if no network is available
✅ Activate data roaming - both in the cell phone and in Sunrise Cockpit
✅ Sunrise TV abroad? - Only limited availability
✅ Attention! - Not all countries are included (e.g. Turkey, Kosovo)
Sun, beach and signal - how to use the network on vacation
You’re lying under palm trees, sipping a drink with an umbrella - and suddenly your cell phone is charging slower than you are after the third mojito. 😅
Don’t panic! Maybe your smartphone just needs a little guidance abroad, because even if you’re in vacation mode, your network doesn’t want to be left in the shade. A few little tips will keep you both relaxed - you on the beach, your phone on the net.
📶 Slow internet? - Switch network manually or prefer 4G
📞 No calls possible? - Check VoLTE/WiFi calling settings
📱 Phone number abroad - don’t forget +41!
📱 Sunrise customer service abroad - you can reach them on +41 58 777 01 01
📺 Sunrise TV - only limited use abroad
📵 Voicemail costs - even if you don’t pick up the phone, costs may still be incurred - for you and the caller!

🔄 Switch network mode back to “automatic”

📞 Reactivate VoLTE & WiFi calling
