Speed configuration for Connect L is limited to 100 inside the router

Three weeks ago I upgraded my subscription to Connect L with 2.5GB/s. In the attachment you can see an image that the maximum configured speed of the internet router is 100MB/s on the fiber line. I had already about 7 calls with Sunrise Telefon support. They helped me to changed the Sunrise Internet Box and the Fiber adapter and also the 5 Meter Fiber cable in the appartement. My last contact from Sunrise Telefon support helped with everything a technical person can do with the Sunrise Internet Box and the PC/mobile in the appartement. For my internet speed checks I used a new PC with a 1GB/s Ethernet card, ethernet cable and additionally Wifi5, in addition also Iphone 16e (Wifi6). All Sunrise speed test always showed a speed < 90MB/s. Now I don’t not know what will be the next step. Is it to request a better Internet router, for example ConnectBox3Fiber? Or does Sunrise have to make a technical check on their systems?

To make use of the 2.5Gbit/s Internet-connection, you might have to switch to the Connect Box 3 FIBRE.

Going thru the manual of the Internet Box you have a SFP Module installed. Could it be that this module only supports 100Mbit/s? It looks like it is a SFP and not SFP+ so a max of 1Gbit/s might be possible. The LAN ports on the Internet Box only supports speeds of up to 1Gbit/s.

Ok, thank you for the information. Maybe it is the SFP, yes. But then it is strange that I received from Sunrise a SFP that is too slow for my contract. Is there a way to check, if the fiber is fast enough for the Connect Box 3 FIBRE? Or do I need to buy it and try it out?

I assume, you should be able to receive a Connect Box 3 FIBRE without the need to buy one.

You might want to call support again 0800 707 707 and complain about the issue you have with the speed.

Thank you for your fast help. I tried already about 7 times to convince the Sunrise call support to send me a Connect Box 3 Fibre. But they always told me that because I have not break of my internet completely I am not eligible for it. I will try to call them again about it and refer them to this chat.

Martin9 I see a product customization in the system which has not yet been completed. Please contact our contract department for more information about the speed upgrade and a new modem.
