Hello,

I’m been having technical issues with Sunrise Internet at home (Internet Box Fiber) opening a specific website (perfumesclub.com or perfumesclub.ch) which is otherwise working fine opening it through Sunrise Mobile network or Swisscom. I’ve tried using various devices and browsers (Safari, Firefox, Google Chrome) and deleting browser caches and cookies but the problem persists. I suspect that my dynamically assigned IP address was blacklisted for some reason unrelated to me or there are issues with Sunrise DNS because I can access the same site using other providers, as I said above. I contacted the website and they replied that they don’t have issues on their side or with my account and I should be able to login as usual.

How can I solve this issue? Is there any way I can ask Sunrise to assign a different dynamic WAN IP address to my router? I’ve tried rebooting my internet box a few times but my IP address did not change.

Looks like there’s an issue with Sunrise DNS.

I am unfamiliar with the Internet Box Fiber, maybe you’re able to change the DNS-settings by hand and choose different servers.

Another workaround: you can edit the settings for DNS on your network card, so your computer will use a different DNS.

You can call support 0800 707 707 and report the error, or maybe @Sunrise_Team or @Daniele_Sunrise might report the error for you?

Telemakos Unfortunately, I don’t have your customer number. Could you please check whether you have activated Surf Protect under Options in your Internet product in MySunrise and, if so, deactivate it.

As the error only appears in your network, i.e. at home, do you have security software installed on your computer such as an antivirus, Malwarebytes, etc.? If so, which one exactly?

Thanks for your help. I tried changing the DNS servers in the Internet Box settings using those by Google and Cloudflare but it did not solve the issue. That’s why I thought that my WAN IP Address might be in a blacklist.
Hopefully someone from the @Sunrise_Team or @Daniele_Sunrise will be able to assist.

Daniele_Sunrise I’m sending you my customer number per private message. The Surf Protect option is off in my Sunrise account and I don’t have any security software installed on my Mac. As soon as I connect my devices (Macbook, iPad) via VPN (Swisscom) or Sunrise Mobile (via iPhone hotspot) I can reach the mentioned websites as usual.

Telemakos I see IPv6 as the only reason for the error. IPv6 is not used for mobile connections. I have now switched your modem to IPv4, which will be completed in a few minutes. Please test it again afterwards. If your modem has not restarted automatically, please restart it manually in about 10 minutes.

Daniele_Sunrise thank you for your help.

I’ve restarted my Internet Box but unfortunately the issue was not solved and when check my WAN IP Address it is still the same as before (ending with .84). I don’t think that IPv6 is really the issue here because I was able to use that website until 2 days ago and it also works on the Swisscom network where IPv6 is active too.

Telemakos In this case, let us check your request via the Abuse Team (abuse@sunrise.net). I see 4 entries in blacklists. The Barracuda and Spamrats entries may be relevant. Can you please write to our Abuse Team? Please keep us informed about your error.

Ok, thanks for the information. I’ve written to the Abuse Team describing the issue and a link to this discussion, and got an automatic reply in which they also state that they don’t offer any technical support.

Can you please reactivate IPv6 on my router and see whether I can get a new IP address in the meantime? Thank you! 🙂

This is their answer:

"Thank you for your e-mail. The URL’s perfumesclub.com and perfumesclub.ch are not blocked from our side (Abuse Desk).

The mentioned Blacklist entries are Policy Listings (spamhaus and spamrats). Policy Listings are normal for DHCP IP’s and are only relevant if a Mailserver is behind this IP’s.

For the Barracuda Blocklist we issued a removal request. But I don’t think that this listing has any influence on the reachability of the sites.

As we don’t provide technical support we recommend getting in contact with sunrise customer service.

Anyways, I’m happy to report that something must have happened in the meantime because I can now access the affected URLs again like before. Maybe it was really that entry in the Barracuda blacklist. Thanks for your support. 🙂
