Hi,

I am trying to get a number for Signal or whatsapp.

I dont want/need a subscription on that phone its intended to be an emergency contact phone for a young teenager.

I have a “We connect surf”, associated with a sim card. I thought to make a esim and use that on the phone, so then I would proceed with making a dedicated signal account.

I had many issues doing that and now I have to wait 24hours from the self portal to undo the change sim—>esim.

Would it work? If not what alternative do I have?

I could think of any prepaid sim but they expire if not having top-up credit after a while…

I dont know a solution to get a number for the sim…but what about switching to a messenger which don’t need a number? (eg. Threema, Wire etc…)

I checked, only wire is free but Im going to try it now.

maxell182 i tried wire.Unfortunately when the app is not opened on the other device it wont receive any call. That means I cant use it to contact the other person like whatsapp or a phone…
