I’ve noticed that for some time now, all devices (PCs, Android mobiles etc.) from my network (both Wi-Fi connected as well as ethernet connected) are getting timeouts when accessing various websites and web services. It occurs with Windows update servers, other software update servers and with various other sites - but not all. I try with curl and indeed it gets a timeout. I enable a VPN and I run the same curl “get” and the website responds as expected! After a Connect Box reboot, it seems to get better (the previously timing-out websites load, just a bit slower the first time). Then after some time (days?) the problem re-appears and websites start timing out again. I tried changing to other DNS servers but didn’t help. Is this the effect of some kind of firewall or filter from Sunrise / Connect Box?
