HI all,

I have read some of the forum posts relating to the fibre version of the connect box 3 having no bridge mode support.

To give a bit of context to my issue, I need to forward ports 53 and 25 and sunrise in their infinite wisdom decided to block these ports. After conducting some tests, it seems that block is only at the router level (can anyone confirm that to be true ?).
My potential solution is to buy my own router that doesn’t have these arbitrary restrictions, however, the sunrise box having no apparent bridge mode may lead to some issues.
My question is simple. If I buy a new router and put it in the DMZ of my current connect box 3, will it allow me to bypass these port restrictions ?

mike69420 What exactly is the error message that is displayed when you try to forward the required ports? Do you have a picture of the error?

Basically the DMZ mode and a separate router should work. However, some ports are blocked on our CMTS for security reasons. This is displayed as an error message during port forwarding. These ports cannot be opened, no matter how you try.

If this means that my ports are blocked no matter what I do just like you said, I would be quite appalled at sunrise. I know for a fact that Swisscom and init7 don’t block these ports.
Do you know if there is a way for sunrise to send me some enterprise router or something like that that either allows bridge mode or either doesn’t have these port restrictions ?
I’m afraid I’ll be forced to switch ISP’s if there is no solution to my problems.

mike69420 These are exactly the ports that cannot be opened for security reasons. I can’t tell you what this looks like with Enterprise or Business products. However, you can contact Business Support via these contacts.
