DMZ option does not work on Connect Box Fiber 3

Hi,

So there is still no bridge mode available for Connect Box Fiber 3. I tried the DMZ option but it’s completly not forwarding the traffic to IP set. Only port forwarding works for me.

Any information on updates to the modem so DMZ works or maybe making bridge mode available for the connect box fiber 3?

yesoos A bridge mode is not available for fiber modems. In the medium term, there will also be no bridge mode for fiber modems.

The DMZ mode is actually there to connect your own router, via which you then connect and configure all your devices. The firewall is deactivated for the internal IP in DMZ mode.

Yes but I thought DMZ mode will actually also forward all of the ports to that given IP. But seems it does not do that completely.

With DMZ set to point on my own router I still have to configure port forwarding on the modem. I thought with DMZ that should be all forwarded to my router.

yesoos What happens if you open some ports on your router, which is in DMZ mode, and then use a port checker to see if the ports are open?

@Daniele_Sunrise - seems that DMZ mode does not function properly - If I do DMZ only and try to connect to a port that is open on my router - port does not work at all.

Once I add that port additionally to port forwarding - then it works. So it seems to me DMZ mode is broken or does not function properly.

yesoos Our modem team has a question for you. Which ports exactly are you redirecting and are not working? We would like to reproduce this as accurately as possible and would appreciate your help.

@Daniele_Sunrise I’m trying with port 51820 UDP (Wireguard) - when I set only DMZ and point to my router - I’m not able to connect. I’m able to connect after adding port forwarding additionaly on the modem.

Hi there,

Is there any further update on this? I’ve seen similar behaviour when testing the DMZ functionality with simple TCP/UDP ports where port forwarding rules are required. By themselves the port fowarding rules are too limiting for the full functionality need (i.e. additional protocol support) so I was hoping that the DMZ option would provide a suitable alternative. Thanks.
