EdgeRouter instead of Connect Box 3?

I’ve been using the Ubiquiti EdgeRouter X instead of the Sunrise Box and was quite happy. Unfortunately a new “Sunrise Connect Box 3” has arrived today and according to the documentation, I’ll have to use that instead of my current setup. Does anyone know if there is a workaround so I can keep using my EdgeRouter? Thanks

As long as you don’t get any sort of message or email, you are free to use your modem without changing it.

Hi Claudio, I did receive an email about replacing the modem (and potential downtime). Does that still mean I could keep my EdgeRouter? Thanks a lot!

jmsunrise The Internet Box you are currently using will be replaced with the Connect Box 3. You can return the old modem to us.

@Daniele_Sunrise thanks. I think you missed what I wrote above: I would like to keep my Ubiquiti EdgeRouter and NOT use the new sunrise modem.

jmsunrise The Sunrise modem must be used for fiber connections, as bridge mode is not possible. We recommend that you use DMZ mode.
