Installation
Together with the Connect Box modem, the Wi-Fi extender forms part of a fully integrated smart-Wi-Fi solution to improve the Wi-Fi signal. The extender communicates directly with the Connect Box to create a seamless mesh-Wi-Fi network throughout the household. No configuration is required for the extender. Simply plug it into the outlet and make sure the power switch is in the «ON» position. When starting up the extender, you will see an LED at the bottom right of the front panel.
The automatic connection process can take up to ten minutes while the Wi-Fi extender configures itself. Once the LEDs are continuously lit up white, this means the extender has finished configuring and establishing the connection.
Is everything in place?
Connect the power adapter to the Wi-Fi extender and then to the outlet.
Turn on the power switch.
After the power switch has been turned on, the Wi-Fi extender LED will initially light up blue continuously for 1-2 seconds, then start to flash green for a few seconds, then once it’s lit up white continuously, this means that the Wi-Fi extender is ready for operation. This will take about ten minutes.
Positioning the WiFi extender
Place the WiFi extender within a radius of six to nine metres around the Connect Box – and no further than one floor or two rooms away.
If several Wi-Fi extenders are installed, care must be taken to ensure that they are evenly distributed and that there’s a strong signal between them.
The long power cable provides more flexibility. You should try to place the extender on a table or shelf – you’ll achieve better results if it’s placed higher.
To ensure that the Connect Box and the extender have a good signal, they should be set up with no objects around them and the devices should not be hidden in cupboards or behind furniture so that the Wi-Fi signal can spread unhindered.
Place both the Connect Box and the extender at least one metre away from objects such as televisions and wireless speakers. These devices can interfere with the Wi-Fi signal.
LED status display
The Wi-Fi extender displays its current status via a single LED that is located at the bottom right of the front panel and illuminates part of the edge of the housing from the inside.
The following are known statuses:
