Hello,

As far as I know the BRIDGe mode is not supported on this device, instead port forward/DMZ can be used.

I attached my own device to the Connect Box 3 Fiber and set its internal IP as DMZ.

Sadly not everything arrives to here, I miss IP protocol 47. The port forwarding option also not offers just TCP and UDP protocols.

How to configure this router to do proper NAT?

Any hints, suggestion help are welcome.

Miklos Welcome to the community!

I assume you have enabled port 47 on your router? Port 47 is not blocked by our CMTS and should work. I can’t tell you why it doesn’t work and maybe someone else in the community can help.

I am sorry, you missed a thing, not the Port, but the protocol is seems not to be working.

Miklos Please excuse me, I am out of my depth. The way I see it in WIKI, it is used for VPN. What happens if you don’t use the DMZ mode and connect the end device directly? Does it work then?

Perhaps the users @pato or @adrianlondon can help out?

It’s beyond my area of expertise too, unfortunately.

I have the white cuboid connect box (Connect Box 2?) which has the port-forwarding feature.

It only allows TCP (protocol 6) and UDP (17), so port forwarding would not allow protocol 47 (GRE, aka VPN-passthrough) anyway.

I do have the DMZ option but not the devices to test it. Internet suggests - if I’m reading it correctly - that modern routers tend not to support GRE as it’s out-dated.
