UPC is going to transfer all mobile numbers to Sunrise, as from 24.7.2023. The transfer will not work when you are not in Switzerland. The email that announced the transfer contains a link to postpone the transfer to a date where you will be back in CH. I’ve tried the link but got an error saying that I need to call 0800 707 707. That 800 number does NOT work from abroad.
The email also says that if you are not back in CH within 10 days, your number will be cancelled by UPC and Sunrise will send you a new SIM card. This means that if you’re not back within that period, you’ll lose phone connectivity until your back in Switzerland (and you’ll probably also lose your number).
This is maddening! How can they do this right in the summer vacation period? Did anybody find out how to get in contact with UPC/Sunrise and get control of this process?
