Hi everyone,

I find the reduced speed of my mobile internet very slow (after I have used the first 250Mo).

The offer says “up to 128kbit/s” but I tested several times and reached only 50kbit/s in the best cases (with full signal strength and 4G).

Practically, I can only use text messages (whatsapp, short mails) and sync basic apps, but internet surfing and app downloading is almost impossible.

Is it the same with other customers or is maybe my phone configuration wrong?

I use a LG Nexus 5x.

This amount was an example. I know is a bit excessive. 😉 I agree with your point fo view. There is not a lot of options like Swisscom or Sunrise. Even with the roaming options. Let’s wait.

15 CHF sounds bit excessive to me. In my home country you can buy 1GB for ca. 3 CHF ( valid for 1 week ) and you can buy up to 3 GB volume.

I belive UPC may come up such a business model with different validity and volume sizes f or less ; I think it is good to give options to customers instead of enforcing one.

This is a good question. Actually, there is extra data and voice packs, but only for roaming: https://www.upc.ch/en/mobile/mobile-options/

It would be great if an extra data-pack (1 extra GB for instance: 15CHF) is added. Let’s ask to @Anina if something like is planned for the near future 🙂

Are they any plans offer top up packages for additional data volume in full speed once the 2GB reached ? This can be quite popular if people needs additional volume and willing to pay.

Hi @yvesv, welcome to the community,

After having consumed all the data allowed on your account (250MB in your case), you will surf at a reduced speed even if you are in place where there is 4G available.

As you said, it is ''up to 128kbit/s". It is not sure at 100% that you will hav that speed.

It is normal that you cannot download any application on the Play Store or try to go Facebook or whatever. This internet speed is very very slow. Even 2G is more faster than that.

This reduced speed is only here to let you check your mails or text message on What’s app for instance.
