Hi guys,
I am trying to access my home network from outside by setting up a VPN on my Mac to access my PC at home. I can access the PC remotely using Microsoft Remote Desktop if I am directly connected to the network without a VPN. I can also sleep and wake the PC up too.
The question is, when I try to replicate this using VPN, I can only access my PC and make it sleep, but I can’t use WoL. I correctly set up the VPN using no-ip dyndns with Cisco IPSec. My IP address has a different subnet than the local network, and the nature of WoL being what it is, I tried to add the rule of port forwarding. However, when I tried to check my port using https://www.portchecktool.com/, port 9 could not be opened.
I deactivated the firewall on both the PC and router, could this be that Sunrise may have blocked port 9?
Or is there a way that I can use WoL from a different subnet IP on a VPN?
Thanks, guys,
Y
