Send Message Error

Starting today (2023-02-23) I cannot send any email through Sunrise email, using either Apple Mail or Thunderbird.

Yesterday, with automatic configuration, everything worked. Today it did not. I have changed the configuration manually, using the instructions from Sunrise, still nothing.

Error message from Thunderbird: "Sending of the message failed.

The message could not be sent because connecting to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp2.sunrise.ch failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections. Please verify that your Outgoing server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again."

Was the correct port also selected incl. encryption type? What happens if you run the automatic configuration again?

Thank you for your support. Considering that the day before everything worked and then it stopped working wihtout any change being made to the settings, it was not something related to the emnail client settings.

I am on Proton VPN (Swiss company, by the way). Once I disconnected from the VPN, the mail programs (both Apple Mail and Thunderbird) worked. Today, being connected to a different VPN server it also worked. It may have been that the server I was connected yesterday was banned by Sunrise SMTP server.

Now, again, everything works 🙂
