- Device: AX7501-B0 (Internet Box Fiber Zyxel, not the one as in picture), provided by Sunrise.
- Firmware: V5.15(ABWW.3)C0
I am experiencing a following issue with my setup, maybe someone had a similar experience?
- One IPv4 address assigned to WAN, no IPv6.
- IPv6 on LAN disabled.
- Firewall disabled, DMZ host configured.
Everything is working as expected, except for the following:
I have a 6in4 (simple static proto 41) tunnel established between my router (behind the Zyxel device) and an external provider.
I can see ICMPv6 echo requests from the outside reaching properly my end of the tunnel.
I can see echo responses (encapsulated in IPv4) leaving my router towards Zyxel device, but they do not reach the remote end of the tunnel. The same with echo requests initiated on my end - they simply get lost.
Now the interesting part:
Anytime I click “ausführen” on the NAT -> DMZ or NAT -> Sessions page of the Zyxel configuration site, even without modifying any parameter, there is a <1s window during which I can observe packets going through (i.e. receive my echo-req and echo-resp on the remote side of the tunnel)
Therefore it seems clear to me that this filtering occurs indeed at the Zyxel device, not further upstream and not on my internal network.
- Is there some some setting I might have missed in order to make the above work as expected?
- Is it possible to get both IPv6 and IPv4 enabled by Sunrise?
- How about having this Internet Box operate in bridge mode? Just a pipe dream?
Thanks for any advice!
