Writing this to see who else had this problem, and if/how it was resolved.
Since we switched from UPC to Sunrise some weeks ago, we get the following issues:
- “Server not found” / “We can’t connect to the server at …” in laptop browser via wifi. This happens seemingly randomly, but only when opening new sites - and in the middle of other successful browsing. Sometimes you can open a new tab, request a different site (successfully), then refresh the problem tab and it loads. But not always.
- TV box (ethernet cable connected) 1: Some channels e.g. BBC News somtimes simply do not load (none of those internet channels do, in that case). Sometimes you get the no-internet message.
- TV box (ethernet cable connected) 2: After successfully watching a Netflix episode, when you click Home button you get the no-internet message (bird with wires) for app-store. Or it complains that app store is not available when you first open it (which resolves after a modem restart - but then the Netflix issue happens again, so a restart is not very long lasting).
- Tablets/mobiles: Pages often take significant time to open (>5 sec) or simply don’t open. Switching wifi off and loading through mobile data then works fine.
I’ve spoke to tech support level 2, it took a while before they ‘understood’ what the issues were, and they acknowledged having seen them “a few times before” but without a clear solution.
Technician is coming on Thursday to investigate the line - too much noise - but I have severe doubts that this will resolve the above. Second step is a new Connect Box, but this issue doesn’t feel like a hardware issue (and the current one is brand new too).
Anyone with experience of this… and found a solution?
