Hello,
Since yesterday I started to have issues with DNS. After some time poking around I found that all requests to public DNS servers are blocked:
$ nc -zv 1.1.1.1 53 # connecting to public DNS server doesn't work
nc: connectx to 1.1.1.1 port 53 (tcp) failed: Operation timed out
$ nc -zv 10.10.10.1 53 # connecting to the router is okay
Connection to 10.10.10.1 port 53 [tcp/domain] succeeded!
$ dig @1.1.1.1 google.com
; <<>> DiG 9.10.6 <<>> @1.1.1.1 google.com
; (1 server found)
;; global options: +cmd
;; connection timed out; no servers could be reached
I disabled all firewall settings (Level: LOW) on the router and restarted it, but still have the same problem. I don’t use neither DHCP from the router, nor the DNS.
Connecting through the phone resolves the problem and both commands have no issues connecting. It seems that something is blocking requests to the public DNS servers unless it is not a router. I tried also connecting to the DNS servers listed in the device info tab (194… and 212…) – those timeout as well.
Could someone please have a look at this issue?
