Hi,
I have this setup at home:
UPC TV box -> HDMI -> TV -> (audio output via optical cable) -> audio amplifier (NAD D3020). The TV is configured to use only the external audio (I.e.: not the built-in speakers).
What I want to achieve is that when I switch the UPC TV box on with the red button on its remote control is that not only the TV switches on, but also the amplifier switches on and goes on that input source, so that one button switches the entire system on. And obviously the same when I switch off.
Currently instead, I need to separately switch the amplifier on/off, which is not good. A possible reason, if I understand things correctly is that the UPC TV box remote control has two power buttons:
- The white one is for the TV only and it operates as an infrared signal
- The red one is for the UPC TV box and it operates via radio (Bluetooth) and HDMI-CEC (to switch the TV on)
However, the audio amplifier can receive the remote signal only via infrared. Maybe, the remote control red power button shold be able to also operate as infrared…
Is it possible to achieve what I want?
