A good test in times like this is to turn your box off and try to connect to a nearby “Wi-Free” network.
If it logs in, then the issue is local to you (and you can surf using Wi-Free until yours is fixed), but if the login fails then it means the neighbour’s internet is also down and hence likely to be a bigger issue.
If, of course, you’ve never set up Wi-Free or had it disabled then this obviously won’t work.
