Hello, I’m trying to access my box from my laptop. It is connect via an ethernet cable and I do have internet access via the giga box, but no way to access the settings via 196.168.1.1.

Yes, I’m getting the same result. I’m trying in both Chrome and Firefox.

So you have a third party router behind de connectBox, or you VPN is active?
The DHCP Range of the CB is fixed at 192.168.0.xxx

since you are not in the same Subnet as the CB, you are not able to connect to the GUI….
Please deactivate the VPN and try again.

Thank you for that, it worked.

Could you please also redirect me to instructions on how to setup a separate router? I connected a Netgear WND-3700 and set it to AP but now I’m no longer able to access this router bot by ethernet and wifi… Looks like it’s no longer providing IP addresses.

Perfect 🙂

To setup a separate Router you have first switch you CB to IPv4.
To ensure on which Version you currently are you can have a look at Wie ist meine IP-Adresse?.
If its IPv6 you first need to change to v4.

Now the tricky part with you Netgear in AP mode, since you switched it to AP-Mode the internal DHCP Server of the netgear is disabled and he gets his IP from the CB at the moment.
You have tow ways to get it back to Router Mode:

Download Angry IP Scanner and search the IP of the AP, then you can login via that IP.

Many thanks for that, I was about to hard-reset the router and having to re-do all my settings, but it worked straight away!
