Have received a letter from UPC stating a change of modem is required.

As I use an Apple Airport network which requires an IPv4 network.

The Connect box which I will receive almost for sure will be setup for IPv6 networking and need to changed to IPv4.

There seems no point in turning off the old Ubee modem.

Interested in thoughts mainly from the upc admins.

We have just initiated the modem exchange. You will receive a new modem within the next days. Since your modem is already set to IPv4, this setting will be applied to the new modem. If not, please contact me.

In addition, you will have a faster speed, because the modem has only 250mbit throughput, but your subscription has a higher speed.

Not the answer I was looking for I don’t need an immediate modem exchange.

It makes no sense that I should need a new modem when I’m happy with the one I have and it supports my current setup IPv4 which is a MUST.

Per the letter I received the old modem Ubee should be available on UPC until 09.07.2022 (9th July).

randald10 At the latest by 09.07.2022 your UBEE modem will be switched off, therefore we have already made the exchange. Keeping the UBEE modem is not possible.

a couple of questions

Is the new modem (Connect box I assume) setup as bridge mode with IPv4 before sending ?
Can I use ubee modem until 9th July, if the new modem is not working ?

Is the new modem (Connect box I assume) setup as bridge mode with IPv4 before sending ?
The modem is already switched to IPv4. You have to activate the bridge mode manually in the menu of the modem.
Can I use ubee modem until 9th July, if the new modem is not working ?
The new modem will be activated no later than 7 days after the package is accepted.

I plan to install the new modem next Thursday 9th June.

if the Connect Box modem doesn’t work can I still use the old Ubee modem until the new Connect box modem is fixed ?

Have tried to do initial setup of the box without connection to UPC,

Setup passwords
Switched to Modem mode
Rebooted Connect box
Login doesn’t work any longer in Modem mode
Reset (25 seconds hold down on Reset button
Setup passwords again
Wifi says not active

Quite angry to say the least, this Connect Box is already unreliable and difficult to use.

randald10 What you are trying to do right now does not work. Please install the new modem as soon as your old one is deactivated. You will notice the deactivation as soon as your UBEE modem is no longer online.

Then install the new modem, which must be connected to the cable network.
