Hi,

I have a VPN Juniper box connected via LAN to my Giga Connect however when using the voice lines the signal cuts out regularly and I lose a majority of what is being said. How can I get the stability improved? I have attached an image of a ping test to my Juniper VPN box showing multiple time outs. My Giga Connect connection has already been changed to IPv4.

With current connection instability it is proving impossible for me to work as the voice system i use via the Juniper VPN box is critical, please advise how to fix this issue.

comullan You have a Nethawk Router from Netgear on LAN 1. I recommend you to set your modem in bridge mode, otherwise you have a double NAT. You can find a tutorial here.

Hi Daniele,

I tried this before and the UPC Modem didn’t recognise the LAN connection to the Juniper VPN box, so I switched back. What did I do wrong for the Giga connect box not to show any LAN connections on home menu once in Bridge mode? It showed zero LAN connections, not even the connection to the Nighthawk Router.

comullan If you have the bridge mode, everything else runs via your router. The modem gets a public IP and gives it to your router, which then does everything else.

In bridge mode you reach the modem via 192.168.100.1. After that you should get back to the modem menu.

Ah ok, so to be clear, change UPC modem to bridge mode, with Nighthawk router connected to it via LAN then connect my VPN box not to UPC modem but the Nighthawk router? Thanks v much will try that once work gets quiet.

Have done as you advised and seems to be working well so far, no timeouts, connection much more stable. Hopefully it stays that way, thank you very much for your help!
