I moved to Switzerland at the end of August. I went to an UPC shop the first day that I was here. I wanted to get a mobile subscription. The sales person there helped me select the subscription I wanted but then told me that there were problems with my credit check (because I didn’t live in Switzerland yet) and that they will do an extensive check that will take a few days or maximum 1 week. He told me that after the check is done he or someone else will contact me then we will proceed with getting me a mobile subscription.
More than two weeks went by and I didn’t hear from UPC about my mobile subscription so I went and got a mobile subscription with another provider. But I noticed that on 15.9. a mobile subscription appeared on my account. Now I have to stress that I did not know about this subscription, did not want to get it and I did not sign any documents while I was at the UPC shop. I also did not recieve a SIM card.
I went back to the shop and presented my problem, they told me to call a support number and try to cancel my subscription via phone. While I was there no one picked up and they told me to try again next day. I did, I asked for someone who speaks english and they transfered me to someone else, but while waiting for someone to pick up, they hung up on me. One time they told me I will get a callback from someone who speaks english, but no one called. I coudnt get in contact with anyone over the phone no matter how many times I have tried.
Then I tried with the web chat. The person I got connected with insisted that I recieved the SIM card while I signed the documents at the UPC shop… I did not sign anything and I did not recieve the SIM card, not in person and not via mail. At the end they said that they will forward my request to someone else but that they cannot prommise that I will be able to cancle my subscription without paying any extra cancelation costs because of minimum contract period. They said that I will be contacted in a few days… but its been more than a few days.
What can I do now? I do not want the mobile subscription because the contract was made WITHOUT my knowledge.
I have been trying to to get a real answer about this from UPC without any luck for days now.
