Ich liebe die Apple-Dinger - Habe in der Wohnung insgesamt 7 verteilt, davon 2 als Stereopaar. Nun denn - Es gibt immer wieder Probleme. Ich betreibe sie alle auf dem 5ghz Netzwerk (Das 2.4ghz hat einen anderen Namen, darauf läuft nur der Staubsaugerroboter…). Die Dinger haben immer wieder Problem, das berühmt “I’m having problems connection to the internet…” - oder von den Stereopairs fällt einer aus. Ist total zufällig, wann das passiert - aber total ärgerlich. Ich habe mich viel in Apple Foren umgeschaut, und vielfach wird das Problem beim Router gesehen. Natürlich - Apple sollte wirklich schauen, dass die Dinger nicht so empfindlich sind und auch an einer Lösung arbeiten. Aber hat jemand ähnliche Erfahrungen mit der Giga Box und Homepods? Eventuell eine Lösung? Vielleicht deswegen einen anderen Router gekauft und nun läuft alles ohne Bugs?

Grundsätzlich sollten die Apple Geräte keine Schwierigkeit haben, sich mit dem Modem zu verbinden. Was ich aber sehe ist, dass einige Geräte zu weit weg vom Modem sind oder eine schlechte Abdeckung haben. Die zwei roten Apple Geräte können die “Unterbrecher” sein.

Als möglicher Lösungsvorschlag habe ich folgender:

Verbinde deine Apple Geräte welche nur Musik machen mit dem 2.4GHz WIFI. Dieser strahlt weiter weg vom Modem als das 5GHz.
Scanne einmal die WIFI Netze in deiner Umgebung mit einem kostenlosen Tool. Falls es viele WIFI Netze hat, kann das ein weiterer Grund sein für die Unterbrüche.

Es war einfach immer ein bisschen ein Geknorze. Ich habe mir nun einen neuen Router gekauft und die Giga Connect Box in den Bridge-Modus versetzt. Jetzt läuft alles problemlos – ich konnte sogar den Router wieder nahe beim Anschluss aufstellen und muss ihn nicht mit meterlangen Kabeln näher an die Geräte bringen. Meine Vermutung war also richtig, dass die UPC-Box nicht ganz rund läuft.

I’m having the exact same problem with my HomePod Mini. Every other time that I try to use it, Siri says to me that it cannot connect to the internet.

The problem is the GigaBox, NOT the signal. I put the HomePod mini on the same table as the GigaBox, but the problem persists.

I also notice that within Apple iOS wifi settings there is a privacy warning. I believe this is because the GigaBox doesn’t use WPA3 Personal for security.

I really don’t want to buy another wifi router, since I only signed my contract with UPC 2 months ago. But, if that is the only way… 🙁

Jmk2021 yeah - if you’re using homepod (minis), it’s just a mess with the connectbox. always has been. just geht a different (mesh-)router (mine’s an asus) - put the connectbox in bridge-mode, and you’ll never run in troubles again.

Yes, the ConnectBox really is terrible. I will get a new router. But, did your new router also fix problems of patchy connection and drop connections? I also have this problem when using Zoom, etc. So frustrating.
