From July 1, Sunrise UPC will automatically block unfair calls on mobile and fixed networks. The Call Filter works for all customers and is free of charge. On the one hand, numbers are blocked that are reported to us by authorities (e.g. by the National Center for Cyber Security NCSC of the Swiss Confederation) (e.g. known SPAM numbers, call centers that disregard the star entries in the phone book, etc.). On the other hand, numbers reported to us by other telecom providers as well as numbers reported to us by customers are checked and blocked as well, if necessary. The filter can also take effect if a large number of calls are made from a number to numbers in the fixed and/or mobile network within a very short period of time.
The solution we developed has proven effective in the past and has increased customer satisfaction. Newly, customers benefit from the fact that more calls can be analyzed and identified as unfair due to the company merger. We will continue to expand the existing solution over the course of the year, with deeper analysis of call patterns allowing even more calls to be caught by the filter.

Why can’t I create a personal blocking list?
The Call Filter is automatically activated for all customers. The list of blocked numbers consists of landline and mobile numbers that are reported to us, for example, by the authorities or other telephone providers. After a thorough check, numbers reported to us by customers are also included. Customers now benefit from the fact that more calls can be analyzed and identified as unfair due to the company merger.
