I upgraded my network to 1000Mbit but my firewall/pfsense connects to the GIGA Connect Box only via 100MBbit even it is 1000GBit capable!?

Maybe your NIC is only capable of connecting with Fast Ethernet (100Base-T). I think you should double check your cabling: You need 4 twisted pairs for 1000Base-T (minimum CAT 5e).

@millernet appreciate your comments - but my firewall device (PC Engines APU2) is fully 1000Mbit capable. to be fair i wrote by mistake 1000gbit instead of 1000Mbit - the last one which i meant. Cabeling is checked.

Nevertheless i restarted the FW and it shows now 1000mbit - there seems to be a glitch somewhere which was resolved by restart. I was just curious if the Giga Connect Box might not 1000mbit capable due it is not properly written in the manual.

Just for my personal interest: What kind of throughput are you achieving with the PC Engines APU2? (https://www.cnlab.ch/en/speedtest) My quick internet research has shown, that this device is capable of achieving the theoretical max. throughput of 940 Mbit/s on a gigabit uplink. I just did a quick test:
CNLAB Test -> D:768 / U:106Mbit
Speedtest.net: D: 768.04Mbit U: 104.89 mbit

and without the tweaking suggested by teklager.se (pfsense v2.4.4)

Will do definitely an update to 2.5 later today and check the performance again.
