I’ve recently switched to UPC after moving to a new location. I set up my TV box as required and it is technically working, but I wanted to clarify: Is a physical coaxial cable really necessary to watch TV?
Unfortunately, I have few TV/SAT outlets in my house and don’t want to span a 20m cable across the entire room. With my previous provider, Swisscom, it was possible to watch TV with just an internet connection. Something that I think should be possible as of today, and UPC also supports streaming to mobile and web, so why not the TV box?
If there is no way around a physical cable, are there any plans from UPC to abandon coaxial and allow customers to watch TV via WIFI/ethernet only? As of now, I’m unfortunately limited to watch on a mobile device or via Chromecast.
Thanks for any help!
