Horizon TV

Dear all,

Is there a way to use the remote control if the box is hidden (i.e. inside a cabinet)?

As far as I understand the remote is infra-red and as such require a direct line of sight with the front of the horizon box, but I was wondering if there could be a cable-connected IR sensor, as there is for many appliance.

If you ever need the functionality, the Horizon box can also accept some IR commands which makes it useful for uniersal remote controls such as the Logitech Harmony ones.

Not every command works (for eg there’s no guide) but they can be accessed using Harmony sequences/macros.

Thanks for the prompt reply. Indeed, it works perfectly. I am amazed that the remote is both bluetooth for the box and IR for the TV.

I have my Horizon box in an enclosed cabinet. The remote works fine (using bluetooth I believe).

Hello @FrancoisFleuret,

The Horizon Box remote control does not communicate with the box via infrared. As such it should be working without any problem while having the box stored in a cabinet.

TV functions like the volume or TV on/off are sent via infrared.
