Simplified navigation, improved recording functions and a revamped OnDemand portal. Those are just some of the highlights of the Horizon software update.

On 29 August 2017 we will start rolling out the updated Horizon software throughout the whole of Switzerland. One highlight is the redesigned OnDemand area. It is more user friendly, so that you can access your favourite film or series quicker. You do not need to do anything for the update. If the Horizon box is connected to the cable and electricity networks, the software update will take place automatically. Due to the redesign of the OnDemand portal, you simply need to accept the terms of use.

Revamped OnDemand menu
The new, intuitive menu navigation and content structure mean that you can get to the film you are looking for or your favourite series even quicker.
In the “Recommendations” area, you will find films and series that you might like.

Mini EPG in the channel bar
- The channel bar now shows a mini EPG in which you can access the last Replay programme and browse through the TV listings for the channel conveniently.

Improved recording function
The general improvement of the recording function introduces the following new features:
- Now you can see whether just one individual episode or the entire series will be recorded.
- The same applies for the deleting of recordings. You can choose between deleting an individual episode or the entire series.
- If a scheduled recording of a programme or series fails for some reason and the programme is broadcast again later on the same day, this programme/series will be recorded again automatically. The unsuccessful recordings will be overwritten.
Roll-out in phases
Some menu texts have already been updated. These are purely text corrections and adaptations. The updated Horizon software, including the new OnDemand service, will be rolled out from 29 August to 31 August 2017. Once the software update is complete, you will be informed by the new Horizon Update app. The app also contains all detailed information about the update and can be accessed at any time via the App Store on your Horizon HD Recorder.
