You have to separate the payments you have to pay:
Billag: Every household in Switzerland has to pay that fee, you basically pay for the Swiss TV and Radio channels who send you a special program for Switzerland. That’s call “service public”.
Your access to the TV signal:
- DVB-T is free of charge and over the air with an antenna. You only get a minimum of TV channels, basically the “service public” channels
DVB-C: The Socket in your flat where you can connect your TV directly without a Box. Classic access to TV. You have to pay the service provider in your region for the signal and if you want, for more channels an additional fee.
Swisscom, Sunrise TV comes into your flat via phonecable. You have to have an internet contract and get an additional settop box to connect to the TV and the Router. For that you naturally have to pay also.
Feel free to ask additional question if needed.
