Hello together
In this thread we would like to centralize all questions regarding the sale of UPC Switzerland to Sunrise and answer them, if possible at this time.
Greetings,
Daniele
1. How high are the chances of an approval by the WEKO/COMCO actually estimated?
We cannot give any information on this and await the decision of the WEKO/COMCO.
2. What happens to MySports as a result of the takeover of Sunrise? Will the station be discontinued? Will it be continued under a different name? Will it be “reduced” or even expanded?
After the fusion, Sunrise will also take over MySports and the corresponding rights.
3. Will the cable network remain in place and Sunrise will take over the hardware ?
I live in a rather rural area, which is only well connected to the cable network,
so all that comes from the Tel. providers are max 20000 kbps, which is simply no longer up to date …. the other is my motto “never change a running system” :/
After the merger, Sunrise will take over all UPC customer relationships and
products and services. This also includes UPC TV, MySports, the UPC
Shops/Service Points, the Community and all other UPC products. The strengths of both companies will be combined and the products and technologies will be determined by Sunrise in the future.
4. Will Sunrise now be driving on two tracks? Cable & normal services? Switch off cable service? Everything via the telephone line? And what could the prices be in the future? These are all questions that the former UPC customer will be very interested in. Then it might be advantageous to switch to Swisscom.

5. I actually have some questions, because at the moment i have UPC (Internet/TV) as well as I’m a Sunrise customer. At the moment, however, I am only interested in the TV offer, which remains like asit is now? Will all the stations and especially MySports remain?
Oh and remains the Homepage of UPC or will run in the future everything about the HP of Sunrise it is now? Will all the stations and especially MySports remain? Will the Homepage of UPC remain or will everything in the future run on the Homepage of Sunrise? (there is, as far as I know, no community forum there, which I would really find a bummer)

6. I would be interested to know whether the UPC will continue to use the Swisscom network for its mobile services, or whether that will also change to the Sunrise?
Until the time of the merger, nothing will change for UPC mobile customers as a result of the transaction. UPC mobile customers have their contracts with UPC and these contracts will be taken over by Sunrise upon completion of the merger.
7. Will linguistic minorities suffer from this change? At the moment Sunrise TV is specially designed for German speakers. There is only little French and Italian channels.

products and services. This also includes UPC TV, MySports, the UPC
Shops/Service Points, the Community and all other UPC products. The strengths of both companies will be combined and the products and technologies will be determined by Sunrise in the future.
8. I would be interested to know when (deadline) there is no more UPC for us customers and we are Sunrise customers.

9. Don’t think it’s good that Sunrise takes over UPC, for Graubünden it would mean that at the UPC locations you only have the choice between Sunrise and Swisscom. I can forget my cheap old subscription with Digicard. Thanks for that

10. The new UPC TV box will keep this? Or replaced by a Sunrise Box? The Connect Box will be retained? Or replaced by a Sunrise Router? MySports channels will these be continued? Also available for Sunrise customers? Will Sunrise continue to invest in UPC’s coaxial network? Docsis 3.1?? The UPC Community is this maintained? If I am not wrong, Sunrise has none. UPC Mobile customers will switch to the Sunrise network (instead of Swisscom).

11. For decades I have been a customer of Redifussion, Cablecom, UPC. I have the full
Program with Connect box, 2 TV boxes, landline and from today UPC Mobile transfer by
Salt. Have I been seduced by the marketing people to “better” conditions, in order to
to increase the selling price? I accepted UPC Mobile because I was told that the price of 29,- per month will remain forever, with all the trimmings, including roaminig-free calls throughout Europe. Have I been glued?

12. I hope that under Sunrise the previous internet addresses (mail) .hispeed.ch and
.swissonline.ch can be continued?
