Hi, I have just received the UPC TV Box, and overall it’s a good product.
One thing that I would like to see fixed or improved is the HDMI-CEC as now it is only active to switch on/off the TV (red button).
On the other hand, when I switch to another HDMI-connected device the UPC remote control become useless, and I have to use the one of the TV.
What I refer to is the possibility to use other buttons of the UPC remote such as up, down, left, right, OK, return, menu, play, pause, stop, rewind, forward to control the other device when this one is the active HDMI-CEC source on the TV.

@Daniele_Sunrise : So, if I have understood, the only possibility is to purchase a third-party remote to fully control both the UPC box and the TV.
It’s a pity, as the UPC remote is well designed and ergonomic, its mix of radio and IR capabilities is brilliant, and with a little bit more of software improvement it could achieve what third-party remotes do.

@ATE ,so simply explained, I would say that you would have to have a remote control that has the ability to pick up signals from other remote controls via wireless signal and IR. Here in the community some users have the Logitech Harmony. You can use it to control the UPC TV Box and other devices.

Usually, remote controlling other devices over CEC is done from the TV remote rather than the cable box one, and even then HDMI-CEC iis mainly used to control the power state and which speakers are active. Everything else seems optional and flakey. I doubt you’ll ever see what you want implemented, unfortunately.

The UPC TV box has CEC issues with the basics anyway in that it doesn’t seem to spend long enough negotiating with the TV over the speaker settings, picture resolution etc and I can often end up with no picture, or the sound routing through the TV speakers instead of my AVR.

I highly recomment a programmable remote (such as one from the Logitech Harmony range) if you want to consolidate controls into one remote. It’s working very well for me.
