Let’s start with our 7-day series, in which we will take you behind the scenes of the UPC. The first article is about the new UPC Shop at Shoppi Tivoli in Spreitenbach (AG).
Shoppi Tivoli Spreitenbach emerged from the first and largest shopping center in Switzerland. It was opened on 12 March 1970 and is located in Spreitenbach in the Limmat Valley, approx. 8 kilometres west of the outskirts of Zurich. It was thoroughly renovated and repositioned in 2010.
On Saturday, 25 May 2019, UPC will now celebrate the opening of its tenth store at Shoppi Tivoli. In the six months since the start of planning, a lot has happened on the 63 square metres of sales space.
6 months review
At the end of 2018, the contractual details were signed and sealed. This was followed by the design and planning phase, which lasted a total of 54 days. In this phase, for example, the visualisation of the shop and the design were defined. The next step was detailed planning.
The construction and extension work, up to commissioning, took a total of 28 days. The phase began with preparation and demolition work. Electricians, plasterers and painters were now at work. After the installations were ready, the plasterer work and the painting work had been completed, the floor covering had to be laid. Everything was finished, everything had to dry out and the joints had to be drawn clean.
The shop fitting work could now begin. The shop fittings were delivered and installed. So that the furniture does not spatially restrict the whole, the shop furniture was specially made. The height is ideally adjusted so that the equipment on display can be conveniently viewed and tried out. After the multimedia installation and assembly of the screens, the final work began. Subsequently, the new shop was given the finishing touches with the final cleaning. The tenth UPC Shop was ready!
New team under the leadership of Carole Städtler
The four-man sales team around shop manager Carole Städtler now had time to put the comprehensive range of mobile devices and accessories in the right place. Everything in the right place, so that the work processes function cleanly when the time comes. That’s important.

The UPC Shop in the Shoppi Tivoli is open Mondays to Saturdays from 09:00 to 20:00 o’clock.
